Harris, who became the first ever football player inducted into the Hall-of-Fame, earned his bachelor’s degree in American Studies in 2007.
During his time as a student, Harris was a member of the Mount Ida football team for four seasons under the direction of former head coach Ed Sweeney. As a running back, Harris became the first player in program history to reach 3,000 career rushing yards, to only surpass that mark as a senior and become the first player in program history to reach 4,000 career rushing yards. Harris finished his career as a Mustang with 4,061 rushing yards, which ranks him second all-time in program history behind current senior running back Johrone Bunch. Harris is also second all-time in program history with 31 rushing touchdowns and to this day still holds the record for most net yards rushing in a game with 377 yards in a game against Becker College where he also crossed the goal line four times, also a record that held up until Bunch broke it on two different occasions through the past four years.
Harris was a two-time Mustang Most-Valuable-Player in 2005 and 2006 and was also a recipient of the prestigious Boston Globe Golden Helmet award that he received after his impressive individual performance against Becker in 2005.
