Misty May Treanor. I like what she stands for and she works really hard and is really dedicated. She stands for strength and independence and hard work.
Why did you choose Mount Ida?
I liked the small campus and the community feel when I walked onto campus. I also liked the small class sizes. I was originally between criminal justice and psychology, and liked both programs here.
What is your favorite moment so far as a Mustang student-athlete?
Coming in earlier than the other freshmen for fall preseason. I got to meet a lot of people early on and got to live with all of the athletes, so we made our own community.
What’s your favorite food? TV Show? Music artist? Movie?
Sushi / Law and Order: Criminal Intent / Country. I’m a huge country fan. I really like Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan. / The Sandlot
When not playing your sport, what do you like to do for fun?
Race go-karts at New Hampshire Speedway or Checkered Flag indoor karting in Haverhill, Mass. I’ve been doing that for five years. I have a 13.2 second quarter mile lap time.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I am joining the Army Reserves. I decided around Halloween last year. I wanted to do the Marines, but I didn’t make it medically, so the Army Reserves came up and I got more info and blossomed from there. I like that it’s part time and works with the college schedule. It’s one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer working my job as a soldier. I want to be military police.
What would be your dream job?
FBI or CIA Agent.
What’s the best thing about the Division 3 experience?
The fact that it’s not so focused on athletics and you still have time to focus on academics and your social life and still have time for yourself.
Who is someone that has been an inspiration or a role model in your life?
My sister. Even though we are the same age. We are both athletic, she’s been really driven in school. She works really hard for how she does in school and I want to do that.
What are three words that you think your teammates would use to describe you?
They always call me goofy, hard working. I also get called mom because I always try to bring things back to reality.

Jeremy Sayers
Year of Graduation: 2018
Sport: Men’s Soccer
Position: Midfielder
Major: Criminal Justice
Hometown: Biddeford, Maine
Who is your favorite pro athlete?
(Chelsea midfielder) Eden Hazard. He has a work ethic above most midfielders. He has great pace and great skill. He’s kind of an underrated player. Not too many people think of him as one of the greatest. I absolutely model my game after him, especially my work ethic. He’s not very big, and he’s not built but he definitely holds his own.
Why did you choose Mount Ida?
I like the small campus feel. When first talking to criminal justice professors, they really sold the program and made me feel like it was something I could excel in. This was one of the only schools I could play soccer and have a major I was interested in. I was only looking at schools with criminal justice and where I could play soccer. Mount Ida hit both of those.
What is your favorite moment so far as a Mustang student-athlete?
The best and worst moment was our game this past year against Johnson & Wales. Beating the #1 seed was better than expected, but I also busted my head open and couldn’t play for most of the game.
What’s your favorite food? TV Show? Music artist? Movie?
Pizza, by far. Pepperoni classic pizza, especially at Alex’s Pizza in Biddeford, Maine. / Survivor / I don’t listen to too much music. Usually whatever’s on the radio, like hip hop or rap. / Forrest Gump
When not playing your sport, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy watching soccer. Premier League Saturdays and Sundays every weekend. I’m a huge Chelsea fan.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I enjoy working. In the summer I work like 60-70 hours a week as a cook at The Ice House in Portsmouth, R.I. I’ve worked there for going on six years. I started when I was 14 doing food running and I worked my way up. My specialty is haddock.
What would be your dream job?
I want to be a juvenile probation officer who works with troubled teens. I saw a lot of kids in high school whose personalities and lives changed when they got into drugs, and when I’m older I want to help them not do that stuff.
What’s the best thing about the Division 3 experience?
I’m able to actually play, compared to D1 and D2 where I wouldn’t play. It’s more focused on academics first and sports second. Sports is a big thing but it doesn’t take up your entire life. I can still focus on getting good grades.
Who is someone that has been an inspiration or a role model in your life?
My brother Anthony. He used to skip high school and now he has act together. Has a nice car and his own house and is only in his mid-20s. He went from rock bottom to actually able to do things in life by working hard. He worked 70 hours a week for a few years doing construction, saved all of his money and worked his way up.
What are three words that you think your teammates would use to describe you?
Honest, outgoing and energetic.
