The Mount Ida College women’s cross country team participated in the Tri-State Invitational this past Saturday at the Community College of Rhode Island in Lincoln, Rhode Island placing fourth overall as a team out of six schools entered.
Mustang senior Jeileen Rivera (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) placed 19th out of 56 runners with a time of 24:00.00 as the first Mount Ida runner to cross the finish line. Freshman Jackie Bradford (Bedford, MA/Bedford) took 25th place with a time of 24:47.00 as the second Mount Ida runner to finish. Senior Lindsay Pitts (Brockton, MA/Brockton) finished in 36th place with a time of 26:39.00 while junior Michelle Richard (Nashua, NH/Nashua) crossed in 41st place with a time of 27:50.00.
Sophomore Anna Biron (Manchester, NH/Central) finished in 51st place at 32:22.00 with freshman Katie Tucker (Castleton, VT/Fair Haven Union) was right behind Biron in 52nd place with a time of 32:26.00. Senior Mairead Coleman (Cranston, RI/Cranston) finished in 55th place with a time of 35:20.00 for the final Mustang to cross.
Mount Ida women’s cross country will travel to hosting Pine Manor College Thursday afternoon.
