WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SNAPS THREE GAME SKID

The Mount Ida College women's volleyball team captured a 3-1 non-conference victory over hosting Salem State College Thursday evening in Salem, Massachusetts by scores of 25-22, 25-15, 20-25 and 25-14.  The Mustangs, who snap a three match losing streak, improve to an overall record of 12-10 remaining at 4-5 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) heading into a very crucial league tri-match this weekend with play-off implications. 

Mount Ida was led offensively by senior captain Rachelle Gilbert (Corunna, IN/Dekalb) and junior hitter Jennifer Ferreira (Shirley, MA/Ayer) both notching 10 kills apiece.  Gilbert led the Mustang with 20 digs also adding a service ace while Ferreira added 12 digs and six service aces.  Senior captain and setter Cody Fusco (San Francisco, CA/San Francisco Waldorf) dished out 14 assists also adding 11 digs and seven kills.

The Mustangs will host GNAC members Simmons College and Rivier College this Saturday with match one game time slated for 10:00 a.m.
