Suffolk Downs Mount Ida 5-0 on Saturday

BOSTON – The Suffolk University Women's Soccer team collected their fourth straight victory with a 5-0 shutout over Mount Ida College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jennifer Martin and Alexandra Nagri each scored twice while Erika Nelson added a goal and an assist as Suffolk blanked Mount Ida to improve to a 5-4 mark in GNAC play on the year.  Kirsten Weiker needed to make just one save as the Suffolk defense smothered Mount Ida's offense for the majority of the contest. Suffolk held a 25-3 margin in shots in the contest.

Weiker and Suffolk recorded the team's sixth victory via shutout on the 2016 campaign. The win is her fifth on the year.

AnnaMarie Seiler (Biddeford, Maine) was busy all the day in between the pipes for the Mustangs as she was under fire facing 15 shots on goal, stopping 10 of those.

Suffolk wraps up its 2016 home slate Monday, Oct. 17 when Pine Manor visits James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park for a 7 p.m. showdown. 

Mount Ida heads to Lasell on Wednesday, October 19th at 3:00 pm for a Newton showdown.
