PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Mount Ida College women's soccer team provided the hosting Wildcats of Johnson and Wales a two goal cushion after one half of play on Saturday, and another tally in the second stanza en route to a 3-0 defeat to the Wildcats.
With the setback, the Mustangs drop to (3-9, 1-6 GNAC) while JWU is still undefeated in conference play at 5-0-2 and 9-2-3 overall.

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales got on the board less than 10 minutes into the game. Sophomore Christina Schneider (Walden, NY) launched a corner kick towards the goal that Hursey headed into the goal. Schneider factored into the second goal of the game when her crossing pass found freshman Molly McCormack (Livingston, NJ) and McCormack headed it in for the second tally.
The Wildcats continued their offensive pressure in the second half, outshooting the visitors 17-0 in the final 45 minutes. Hursey got her second goal of the afternoon in the 59th minute. Junior SaraKate Matthews (Northborough, Mass.) set up the score with a through ball that Hursey tapped in for the goal.
Despite not having to a make a save all day, freshman goalkeeper Colleen Lynch (New Milford, Conn.) picked up the victory. The Wildcats had a 29-1 margin for shots, including 15-0 on goal. Keeping the Mustangs in the match was goalie AnnaMarie Seiler as she made 15 saves.

Both teams will be back in play in 48 hours when the Mustangs return to the confines of their home field, Alumni Field, on Monday at 12:00 PM when they host Simmons on Columbus Day. The Wildcats go on the road Monday to take on Rivier at 1:00 in Nashua, New Hampshire.
