Oltmanns Scores Amid Frantic End to First Half

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Mount Ida College scored once but conceeded three times in the span of 4:10 on Saturday afternoon to fall behind 3-1 en route to a 5-1 loss to Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer action.

Freshman Emily Oltmanns (Golden, Colo.) scored her third goal of the year at 30:50 to tie the game at one just under two minutes after the Falcons had jumped out to the lead, but the hots scored twice more before the 34 minute mark and then notched two more goals in the second half to improve to 6-5-2 (4-2 GNAC).

Mount Ida (2-6-4, 0-4-2 GNAC) got 11 saves from freshman Kelsey Parkin (Standish, Maine) and saw senior Isabelle Moody (Naugatuck, Conn.) feed Oltmanns from the end line to pick up her second assist of the year and collect her team high 16th point of the season.

Acacia Nelson (Bridgeport, Conn.) opened and closed the scoring with her furth and fifth goal of the season, while Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) added a goal and an assist in the win. 

Kaitlyn Fedumenti (Stratford, Conn.) scored the eventual game-winner just under a minute after Oltmnn's e qualizer when her shot from thirty yards out slipped through Parkin's hands. 

Polvan added an insurance goal a minute and thirty-five seconds later, and Kerrigan Loughman (Trumbull, Conn.) got her first collegiate goal in the 49th minute before Nelson scored her second on a feed from Amanda Montano (North Haven, Conn.) just before the 70:00 mark.

Mount Ida looks to bounce back on Saturday when they host Rivier at 12:30 pm in another GNAC contest.

The Falcons, who got two saves in 76:30 from starter Maria Case (W. Haven, Conn.), travel to Emmanuel this Saturday for a 3:00 pm conference game.
