WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO CADETS 1-0 IN GNAC PLAY

The Mount Ida College women's soccer team played a very strong game defensively Monday afternoon in Northfield, Vermont but fell 1-0 to Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.  The Mustangs, who played most of the game in their own end with only one shot on net the entire contest, fall to an overall record of 2-11-0 standing at 1-9-0 in league action.

Norwich, who rallied 32 total shots for the game, 17 of which were on net, scored in the 25th minute of play for the go ahead and eventually game winner from Cadet freshman Alex Frank (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) on a feed from junior Brittany Casey (Pointe-Claire, Que./Kent School) for the 1-0 lead.

The only tally of the game would become enough for the Norwich victory with the Cadets dominating most of the offensive action.  Mount Ida goaltender junior Devan Meeker (Bantam, CT/Litchfield) was solid with almost all the shots in the game coming her way denying 16 shots by the hosts.

The Mustangs will travel to Simmons College this coming Saturday for more GNAC action with game time slated for 1:00 p.m.
