WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTCHES SECOND STRAIGHT WITH 87-76 WIN

Behind an impressive season high 29 point performance from Mount Ida College women's basketball senior guard and Captain Evebonee Acosta (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley), the Mustangs captured an 87-76 non-conference victory over visiting Pine Manor College Thursday evening in Newton, Massachusetts.   Acosta notched the only double-double of the contest including 10 rebounds and eight assists to go with her 29 points. 

The hosts improve to an overall record of 6-6 with their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match-up of the season coming this Saturday against visiting Norwich University. 

Along with Acosta, four other Mount Ida players were in double figures in points led by sophomore point guard Allison O'Connor (Leominster, MA/Leominster) with 13 and six assists on 6-13 shooting.  Sophomore forward/center Jenn Rafuse (Brockton, MA/Brockton) narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds while junior forward Abbey Fedigan (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield) tallied 11 points on 5-10 shooting.  Sophomore forward Sierra Legge (Schodack Landing, NY/Maple Hill) recorded 10 points and six assists respectively.
