WESTON, Mass. --  Senior Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) notched nine kills and three service aces to lead Regis to a 3-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s volleyball victory over Mount Ida by game scores of 25-10, 25-20 and 25-20 in a league match played Tuesday evening on Higgins Court.

 

Senior Jeff Ramos (Pawtucket, R.I.) and freshman Inelson Alves (Brockton, Mass.) each had six kills and combined for seven digs in the triumph for the host Pride (8-15, 3-9 GNAC), which received five kills each from senior Wade Robidoux (Granby, Mass.) and junior Drew Beimel (Redondo Beach, Calif.).  Freshman Guency Clodomir (Pembroke Park, Fla.) chipped in with four kills for Regis, which received a combined 32 set assists from sophomore Jayson Vega (Ponce, P.R.) and freshman Sebastian Valdes (Diamond Bar, Calif.).

 

Junior Brett Southworth (Orange, Conn.) collected a match-high 12 kills and six digs in the setback for the visiting Mustangs (12-18, 0-11 GNAC), who received six kills each from sophomore Kevin Vanderhorst (Lawrence, Mass.) and freshman Tyler Dorfman (West Hartford, Conn.).  Junior Tyler Shinkle (West Deptford, N.J.) and sophomore Andre Foster (Davis, Calif.) added three kills each for Mount Ida, which received 26 set assists, three kills and three digs from sophomore Kevin Keohane (Jefferson, N.J.) along with a combined 10 digs from junior Nate Gyampo (Providence, R.I.) and freshman Isaac Reed (Keene, N.H.).

 

Mount Ida hosts Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference outing on Thursday evening at the Athletic Center beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Regis entertains Emerson and Johnson & Wales in a GNAC tri-match on Saturday morning on Higgins Court that begins at 11:00 a.m.
