FRANKLIN, Mass. -- Mount Ida College defeated Dean College 3-0 on Tuesday evening for their eleventh win of the year, breaking the program record for wins previously set in 2010.
The Mustangs (11-14) swept the Bulldogs by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-19 in a non-conference match and have posted the second double-digit winning season in the 15 year history of the program.
Freshman Carter Amadon (Athol, Mass.) and sophomore Nate Gyampo (Providence, R.I.) had eleven kills apiece,with Amadon tying his freshman year high.
Sophomore Nathan Sprengle (Williamstown, N.J.) had 28 assists for the Mustang offense that hit .253 as a team, including .600 in the first set, when they had 16 kills and just one error on twenty-five attempts.
Nelson Leadbetter (Athol, Mass.) led the way with 15 digs, and Tyler Shinkle (W. Deptford, N.J.) had seven kills, three service aces and seven digs in the win.
Dean was led by three kills apiece from Justin Freitas () and Moussa Seck () and five assists out of Gabriel McClain ().
The Bulldogs end their season with a 2-19 record.
Mount Ida, who earned their second win of the year against Dean, will head to Pine Manor on Thursday night for another 7:00 pm non-conference match.
