HASTINGS HAMMERS 14 KILLS, MUSTANGS FALL TO WILDCATS

Mount Ida College men's volleyball sophomore Spencer Hastings (Orlando, FL/Timber Creak) hammered a game high 14 kills on 32 attempts.  But the Mustangs couldn't muster a victory behind Hastings performance falling 3-0 to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Johnson & Wales University Wednesday night in Providence, Rhode Island by scores of 20-25, 28-30, and 20-25.  The Mustangs drop their fourth GNAC conference loss of the season falling to an overall record of 1-6. 

Along with a solid performance from Hastings offensively, Mount Ida senior hitter Thomas Belton (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) added eight kills on 29 attempts along with seven digs.  Fellow senior setter Shane Wilson (Gloucester, MA/Gloucester) dished out 18 assists adding six digs.  Junior hitter McCoy Arnoux (Brockton, MA/Brockton) notched four kills.  Hastings would also add a team high 14 digs. 

The Mustangs will host non-conference Lesley University this coming Friday night starting at 7:00 p.m.
