Mustangs Hit Century Mark in Win over Wheelock

BOSTON, Mass. – After a disappointing end to their last game, Mount Ida College took out their aggression on Wheelock College and beat the Wildcats 100-88 in non-conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Winsor Court.

This is the first time since 2012 that the Mustangs have scored 100 points in a game, as they opened that season accomplishing the feat in back to back games on November 16th and 17th.

Ethan Dujon (Warwick, R.I.) had a double-double with a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds, and sophomore Dennis Ross (Portland, Maine) added ten points off the bench.

Dujon was 13-23 from the field, while Errald Jordine (Stamford, Conn.) and Joey DeFillippi (Bristol, Conn.) were each 2-3 from downtown. Jordine had 17 points and DeFillippi added 12 points and eight rebounds, as well as two assists.

Junior Jayson Clark (Austin, Texas) was also in double-figures with 10 points and he and Kevin Conner (Mansfield, Mass.) co-led the team with four dimes apiece.

The Wildcats offense came from Derek Fournier (Johnston, R.I.), who scored 25 points and Anthony Williams (White Plains, N.Y.), who just missed a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Nicholas Fenton (East Hartford, Conn.) also just missed a double-double with 19 points to go with a game-high 9 assists and six rebounds, while Devin Brown (Chicago, Ill.) contributed 12 points off the bench for Wheelock, who shot 45.3% from the field to Mount Ida's 48.7%.

The Mustangs took a 47-35 lead into the break and the teams played an even second half, with each side scoring 53 points in the final twenty minutes.

Each team is now 3-4 after today's contest. The Wildcats will look to get back on track when they host Dean College on Tuesday at 8:30 PM.

The Mustangs will finally get to come home for their home opener next Thursday night when they host Lesley at 7:00 pm, part of a doubleheader at Mount Ida Athletic Center.
