Three Mount Ida College football players participated in the NCAA Division III Dream Bowl All-Star game on Monday at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Quarterback Scott Drosendahl (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora), place kicker Bobby Hemmann (Newington, CT/Newington) and defensive end A.J. Knibbs (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) were the senior's selected to compete in the contest.
"It was an honor to be surrounded by such talent that was showcased at the 1st Dream Bowl in Salem, VA," said Drosendahl. "Although we didn't get the win, we came out and were able to compete with those who love the game as much as we do."
10 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) players participated in the game from six of the eight schools in the league from 2012 ECFC champion Mount Ida College, Anna Maria College, Gallaudet University, Norwich University, Maritime College (SUNY) and conference runner-up Castleton State College.
