BONOMOLO SELECTED TO ALL-NEW ENGLAND ALL-STARS

Mount Ida College senior center and 2012 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Offensive Lineman-of-the-Year Matthew Bonomolo (Pearl River, NY/Nanuet) has recently added another piece of hardware to the career trophy case.  Bonomolo was named to the 2012 New England Football Writers All-New England team for the first time in his career. Fifty-seven players representing 29 different teams throughout New England have been named to this prestigious All-Star team at both the Division I FCS and Division II/III levels.  Out of all New England schools that have football as a varsity sport, Bonomolo was named as one of the six best offensive linemen in the region.  There have only been three other Mount Ida Football players to be named to this team in the history of the program (Johrone Bunch, A.J. Knibbs, Antwan Harris ’07).

Bonomolo, who was an ECFC Honorable Mention in 2011, has personified hard work and dedication to the Mount Ida football program since his first days as a student-athlete. As an offensive captain and four year starter, he has lead by example as an undersized lineman who can match-up with any opponent. Bonomolo is a smart, veteran lineman who has been the anchor of the offensive line all year. Bonomolo has paved the way for a dangerous running attack that warranted 17 touchdowns making Mount Ida's offense one of the best in the conference. Along with his ECFC Offensive Lineman-of-the-Year honor, Bonomolo was also recognized as a First Team All-Conference player as well.
