Lindsay Smith joined the Mount Ida College Athletic Department for the 2015-16 season as the new head coach of Mustangs Cheerleading. The 2017-2018 year marks Smith’s third year at Mount Ida.
A native of Walpole, Smith spent five years at Walpole High School working with the Cheerleading team, first as an Assistant Coach and then for her final four years as the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity squad. At Walpole, Smith helped to run practices and condition student-athletes, while also coordinating fundraisers and performances at both football, basketball games and competitions.
At Framingham State College, Smith was a member of an NCA nationally ranked Division 2 squad and was Co-Captain in the last of her four years. Since then, she has cheered for Cheer Factor All-Stars cheer program out of Foxboro, Mass.
Smith was a four year varsity cheerleader at Walpole High School, including serving as Co-Captain in 2003-04 for her senior season. Smith was also nominated as, and awarded, NCA All American. She helped lead the Walpole Rebel Cheerleaders to the Herget Division championship for three years. She began her career with Walpole Pop Warner and has been Cheerleading since 6th grade.
Smith has also been a Massachusetts Secondary School Athletic Association (MSSAA) line judge for Cheerleading competitions and is a Supervisor at Crunch Fitness.
Smith currently resides in East Walpole, Mass.
