Nobody has scored more points in Mount Ida basketball history than Kristin Santos. Her 1,450 points scored tops all men's and women's players from both the 17 years of NCAA play and our entire history as a Junior College. Kirstin made 229 three-pointers, 86 more than the next closest Mount Ida basketball player, male or female. She averaged 14.4 points per game, shot .323 from behind the three-point line, and is also in the top-ten in total rebounds and top five in assists and steals for the Mount Ida women's basketball program.
A four-year member of the women's basketball team who also played soccer during her senior year, Kristin is a native of Tiverton, Rhode Island and maintained a 3.2 grade point average while earning her degree in Sports Management with a minor in coaching from Mount Ida College.
Former coach Candace Crabtree said of Kristin, "(she) was a player who would put the team on her back to win the game. There was never a shot that she didn't like. She lived and loved to play basketball. I am very proud of her for who she was as a player and who she is now as a graduate."
After she graduated, Kristin interned in the Sports Information department at the University of Bridgeport and at Bloomsburg University a year later. When she moved to Philadelphia in 2009, Kristin was named the Assistant Sports Information Director at Saint Joseph's University, and stayed there for two years before leaving to attend school at the National Personal Training Institute. In October of 2011, she started training in the fitness center at Pep Boys corporate headquarters, and she currently runs her own business, Strive Strong Training.
